Child's Crocheted Tool Belt

Our youngest son has been playing with all of his tools recently. He used to have a tool belt (his Grandpa bought it with the tools in it), but it broke... I thought, "I could crochet him one. It wouldn't be that hard." (Being married to a carpenter for sixteen years... :P)
Here it is on him:

You will need:
I hook
WW yarn less than a skein (I used a taupe color the label was missing so I'm not sure what it was)
yarn needle
button
scissors
Belt (Note on belt: It does stretch. If your child has a belt for their pants, you could also put that through the loop in pouch...)
Ch 24 inches (or as long as your childs' waist is). Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 2, turn. Hdc in each hdc. Fasten off.
Tool pouch
Ch 22. Hdc in 3rd ch from hook & in each ch across. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2-34: Hdc in each st across. Ch 2, turn. At end of row 34, fasten off leaving tail to sew w/, later. (Tool pouch should measure 6 inches wide. When you fold it up, the pouch should measure six inches as well, with about five rows left to sew over belt part. If it isn't quite six inches, you may want to add more rows.)
Fold pouch up. Count five rows down from top. Fold to this row. Sew sides. You will now fold this top part over the belt later and sew the to edge to the back of pouch, over the belt. (Be careful to not sew the belt in with it.)
Pocket
Ch 13. Hdc in 3rd ch & in each ch across. Ch 2, turn.
Rows 2-8: Hdc in each st across. Ch 2, turn. At end of row 8 fasten off leaving a tail to sew on.
(Pocket should measure about 3wx4t)
Smaller pocket
Ch 7. Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and remaining chs. Ch 2, turn.
Rows 2-8: Hdc in each st across. Ch 2, turn. At end of row 8, fasten off leaving a tail to sew on.
Hammer Loop
Ch 7. Hdc in 3rd ch from hook & in each ch across. Fasten off leaving a length to sew on.
Using photo as a guide, sew pockets on to tool pouch. Sew hammer loop to very edge of side of tool pouch. Weave in all ends.
Sew a button on to one end of belt. I should have made the belt even smaller as it stretched. Oh well I might sew another button on to the other end so it won't just hang there. This pattern hasn't been tested so if there is any problems let me know.
This is a free pattern and may not be sold. You can sell your finished tool belts if you can find a buyer. ;P

Quick & Cozy Newborn Thumbless Mitts

After looking for an easy baby mitten pattern with the same size hook and yarn that I used to make the hat with, I got so irritated that I decided to just make one up that was simple and fast. I really didn't know what I was doing, I am surprised they turned out. :P I haven't actually tried these on a real newborn but they seem to be the same size as all the other mittens out there...

Edited To Add: Ater making these for a while, and reading comments from a charity group I am on how big to make newborn mittens, I have edited this pattern. The picture shown is of the old pattern...

F hook
Baby yarn (such as Lion Brand Soft Baby, or Bernat Softee Baby)
yarn needle
scissors

These will measure 4.5 inches from tip to 'cuff'.

Ch 24. Hdc in third chain from hook and in each ch across. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2: Hdc in same space as beg ch 2 & in each st across. Ch 2, turn.
Rows 3-10: Repeat row 2.
Row 11: Hdc in same space as beg ch 2, *Ch 1, sk one st, hdc in next st, rep from * across. Join. Ch 2, turn.
Row 12: Hdc in same space as beg ch 2, hdc in each space and st across. Ch 1, turn.
Rown 13& 14: Repeat row 2. Do not fasten off at end of row 14. Fold mitt in half and sl st sides and top together. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Tie: Ch 70. Fasten off, weave ends in through the back loops of ch. Weave through the ch spaces on mitt, with the bow in front of mitt.

Make another mitt and you're done. :-D
