Cow Keychain Critter

This one is for Moo Mooo. (And anyone else who likes cows!!) About a year ago, when I had posted my yo-yo keychain critters pattern on Crochetville, Moo Mooo had asked if I could make her a cow one. Well I TOTALLT forgot about that, until today when I was reading through some of the posts on that thread (after posting my Pumpkin Keychain Thingy). So, sorry it has taken me almost a year to make you a cow, but here it is, Moo Mooo:

White ww yarn
small amounts black and brown ww yarn
google eyes (I like the sew on kind)
H hook
yarn needle

Using the basic yo-yo pattern, I make a yo-yo in white. You can make it all one color. I tried making a spot (it was kind of complicated): In about the fourth dc, draw up black for the last loop, drop the black. Then pick up white for the first half of the next dc. Draw black through the first half of the dc, then wrap it around to finish it but draw white through. Work over the black yarn and finish with white. Fasten off.

Then, I made the same ears as I did for the Bear/Mouse: Join with a sl st in the 4th sc to the right of the keychain. In same space, sc, hdc, and sl st. Then fasten off. Do the same in the 4th sc to the left of the keychain. Weave in all your ends. (I changed it to the fourth sc for the cow, in the original pattern it is the 2nd...)

Horns: With brown, in stitch 2nd to the left of the right ear, join w/ slst. Ch 3. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next ch. Sl st to stitch on cow. Fasten off. For the other horn, do one stitch to the right of the left ear.

'Snout' (?): With black (or white, your choice), ch 4. 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook. sc in next ch. 4 sc in last ch. Fasten off, leaving a length to sew onto cows face. Sew on, over the middle 'hole'.

With white, make two French knots for the snout holes (optional). (Hopefully you are better at making French knots than I am! :0)

Sew or glue on google eyes, attach keychain ring in center stitch of horns. Moooo! Happy Crocheting! :P

Pumpkin Keychain

Remember my Keychain Critters? I thought I would never make another one. Well... Sometimes an idea pops in my head and I have to get it out (and never make another one :P)... So, here we go.... (Sorry about the bad picture, I am running out of places to take pictures with good lighting and I took this one on the pavement.... ew...)

You will need orange and green yarn (small amounts)

H hook

Note: you will be making the stem and leaf in the FLO (Front Loop Only) of the pumpkin

Using the basic yo-yo pattern, make one in orange. Fasten off & weave in all loose ends. Then, with green, join w/ a sl st to the left of the joining stitch. Chain two for a 'stem'. Then sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Sl st to same joining stitch. Do not fasten off, you will now make the leaf. Ch 5. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next ch. Hdc in next, dc in next. Now in same chain as dc, make a hdc, then a sl st to the very starting stitch (on the 'pumpkin'). Fasten off. Weave in all loose ends, and attach keyring in back loop behind the stem/leaf.

Pumpkin Toilet Paper Cover

Every fall, I like to get a pumpkin and bake something with it. I like to crochet pumpkins, too. Well (long story short) I got an idea to make a pumpkin TP cover. This isn't the greatest picture, (phone pic) I don't have batteries for my camera. But, you can get an idea what it looks like, anyway. ;) Also, this hasn't been tested~ so if you find any mistakes please let me know! Thanks!

Side Note: This was made to fit over a 'double' roll of toilet paper, just 'FYI' ;)

G hook
WW yarn (I used Red Heart) probably a 3 oz. skein would be plenty for the orange and just a little bit for the green

Ch 21, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, and in each ch across. (19 hdc) Turn
Note: Work all hdcs in BLO (back loop only)
Rows 2-36: Ch 2, hdc in each st across. (19 hdc) (Ch 2 does not count as a hdc) Turn .
At end of row 36, do not fasten off. Sl st two sides together. (Still do not fasten off.) Ch 1. Sc 48 sc evenly around the edge of the top.
Round 2 (Work in BLO for this round): Ch 1,*Sc first 2 tog, sc in next sc. Rep from * around.(32 sc) Join.
Round 3: Ch 1, *Sc first 2 tog, sc in next 2 sc. Rep from *, join. (24 sc)
Round 4: Ch 1, *Sc first 2 tog, sc in next 3 sc. Rep from *, ending w/ sc in last 2 sc, join. Fasten off orange. (19 sc)
Round 5: Join green w/ sl st in first stitch. Ch 1, *Sc first 2 tog, sc in next 4 sc. Rep from * around, ending w/ one sc in last sc. (16 sc) Join.
Round 6: Rep round 2, ending w/ sc in last sc. Join (11 sc)
Note: You might want to start marking the beginning of the row at this point.
Round 7: Ch 1, Sc 2 tog around w/ sc in last sc. (6 sc) Join.
Rounds 8-11 (Stem): Ch 1, Sc in each sc around. Join.
Round 12: Ch 1. Sc 2 tog around. (3 sc). Fasten off leaving a length to weave through last 3 stitches to pull tight. Pull loose end into stem and weave in.

Leaf (Make two or three-- Optional): W/ green, ch 10. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next ch. Hdc in next 2 ch. Dc in next 2 ch. Tr in next 2 ch. 6 tr in last ch. Continueing on opposite side in remaining loops, tr in next 2 ch. Dc in next 2 ch. Hdc in next 2 ch. Sc in last 3 ch. Join w/ sl st to first sc. Fasten off, leaving a length on at least one leaf to sew leaves on to pumpkin. Weave in loose ends.

This is my own design. You may not sell this pattern. Feel free to make for gifts, or to sell at bazaars/fund raisers, but do not sell the pattern. Have Fun! :)
